Mayadevi Pond

Located in front of the Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini, Maya Devi Pond is a square-formed structure with steps all around to rise to the water level. Otherwise called Puskarini, this is the place where Gautama Buddha's mom - Maya Devi - used to wash. Truth be told, Lord Buddha's first washing was done in this lake. A terrific sanctuary presently takes the area where Buddha was conceived, and the Maya Devi lake is found directly before the place of worship. On uncommon events, the means around the lake are lit up with oil lights after dusk to adore the holy spot. On one side of the lake is a very much kept nursery with tall trees, lined by lavish green hedges, and on the other are antiquated remains that go back to the third Century B.C. These vestiges are accepted to be the remaining parts of antiquated sanctuaries and stupas ensured with block structures. Another landmark that will catch one's eye here is the Ashok Pillar, which was worked by Emperor Ashoka in reverence to Gautama Buddha's excursion towards edification and his lessons. The lake, consequently, isn't simply strictly huge yet has extraordinary verifiable significance as well.
